Diagnosis and treatment are increasingly using genetic methods and one purpose of t he congress is to highlight clinically useful aspects of genetic medicine in Neurology. But as always\, progress in all fields of neurology will be presented and participants will be updated about recent developments and n ews in clinical neurology. The selection of the educational programme is m eanwhile organised within a newly adapted 5-year EAN educational curriculu m. This curriculum is covering all important aspects a neurologist should learn and update in this period.\n\nLisbon is a modern town\, easily acces sible from almost everywhere\, where you can enjoy the hospitality of its people\, walking around town exploring culture\, arts and food. The charmi ng capital of Portugal is located by the wide estuary of Tagus River where you will find scenic views from almost every corner. Here\, you can absor b the unique scent of the near Mediterranean\, mild and pleasant climate o f early summer and the peculiar luminosity of a blue sky reflected on its white ancient houses in historic areas. Lisbon is dominated by its castle\ , more than one thousand years old\, with a unique view. This is a city fu ll of history where you may feel the ambiance of the old arab neighborhood of Alfama and Mouraria\, where Fado\, the national sentimental song\, was born.
