DESCRIPTION:Dear all\,\n\nOn behalf of the general board of the European Ac
 ademy of Childhood Disability (EACD) I am pleased to invite you for the 29
 th annual meeting from the 17th till 20th of May 2017\, in RAI Convention 
 Centre in Amsterdam\, The Netherlands.\n\nThe EACD annual meeting is a lea
 ding multidisciplinary meeting in the field of pediatric rehabilitation fo
 r children with a disability\, like cerebral palsy\, neuromuscular disorde
 rs\, spina bifida\, autism\, develop-mental coordination disorder\, geneti
 c and metabolic diseases. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues:\npediat
 ricians\, pediatric neurologists\, orthopedic surgeons\, physiatrists\, pe
 diatric physiotherapists\, occupational therapists\, speech therapists and
  other paramedical professionals\, psychosocial\, orthopedagogical and tec
 hnical professions in the field of pediatric rehabilitation\, concerning p
 atient care and scientific research. Also\, parents/client organizations a
 re involved in the conference. About 700 participants are expected from mo
 st countries in Europe\, but also from the Middle East\, USA\, Canada and 
 Australia.\n\nThe theme of the conference will be:\n“Steps into the futu
 re”\, focusing new developments in the field of pediatric rehabilitation
 . Themes of the conference will be clinical use of movement analysis\, lon
 g term effects of treatment\, physical activity and fitness\, assistive te
 chnology\, development of data registers and organization of health care\,
  family focused intervention\, participation and autonomy in a life-long p
 erspective. These themes are overarching for the different diagnosis group
 s.\n\nRAI Convention Centre is a recently renovated modern convention cent
 er with sufficient possibilities for exhibitions\, integrated in the confe
 rence venue. The airport Schiphol is nearby\, with an excellent connection
  by public transportation. Schiphol has direct flights to most of the Euro
 pean cities and to many destinations in the USA\, Middle East and Asia. Th
 e historic city of Amsterdam offers an excellent environment for a social 
 program in a relaxing atmosphere.\n\nOn behalf of the local organizing com
 mittee of the department of rehabilitation medicine of VU University Medic
