DESCRIPTION:Distinguished colleagues\,\nMy dear friends\,\nThe European Aca
 demy of Dermatology and Venereology has chosen one of the most beautiful c
 ongress cities in Europe\, Paris\, to host its 27th Annual Congress in 201
 8.\n\nWe have been working tirelessly to bring you a full and exciting pro
 gramme that will showcase the best of clinical expertise in dermatology an
 d venereology.\n\nThis Congress will build upon the scientific programme d
 eveloped over the past three years in a freshly-structured thematic sessio
 n format with various tracks designed to meet\, or hopefully even exceed\,
  your expectations. With many opportunities to further develop your skills
  and continuing medical education\, you will not have to search hard to sa
 tisfy your interests.\n\nOne of the greatest strengths of our Congress is 
 bringing so many talented and up-and-coming professionals with different b
 ackgrounds together. Although we are a European society\, we welcome inter
 national colleagues and speakers from over a hundred different countries t
 o our Congress: an opportunity to network with new acquaintances as well a
 s meet up with lifelong colleagues from North and South America\, Asia\, A
 frica and Australia again!\n\nIn addition\, during specific sessions -and 
 please watch out for these- participants will have the opportunity to impr
 ove exchanges and collaborations with nurses\; their critical role and imp
 ortance in the management of patients with skin diseases is undisputed. Th
 e Patient Society Village for patient associations is there to allow us to
  better understand their particular expectations\, wishes and needs. Every
 body is also invited to visit the EADV Resource Centre to discover the var
 iety of educational and fostering activities\, research grants and scholar
 ships provided by the EADV to its members.\n\nFinally\, the exhibition spa
 ce and the various satellite symposia present an opportunity to get in tou
 ch and exchange with industry\, whose presence and collaboration are impor
 tant for the development of our specialty and the success of the Congress.
  Paris will not only become our reference educational home for a week\, it
  will provide us with countless opportunities to explore a special place w
 hich has a 2000 year history\, an extravagant social scene\, cultural attr
 actions\, with arts\, music halls\, opera\, as well as fashion\, style\, w
 orld-renowned cuisine and wines.\n\nThe congress centre is a 10 minute wal
 k from the Arc de Triomphe where the Champs Élysées unfolds\; and just o
 utside the centre’s doors is beautiful Paris with his characteristic six
  and seven story high white stone buildings on wide\, tree-lined boulevard
 s and avenues\, handsomely executed according to the plans of Baron Haussm
 ann’s. The beauty of the city inspired creativity\, among others\, of Pi
 ssarro\, Toulouse Lautrec\, Utrillo\, and Claude Monet\, and nurtured the 
 minds of Baudelaire\, Apollinaire\, Balzac and Molière. We anticipate tha
 t the combination of excellent educational sessions and culture in Paris w
 ill allow you to take new knowledge home and inspire another type of energ
