DESCRIPTION:It is our great pleasure to welcome you to Oslo on the occasion
  of the 5th EAN Congress from 29 June to 2 July 2019.\n\nOslo is Norway’
 s largest city and one of Europe’s fastest-growing cities\, with a popul
 ation of 620\,000. Half of Norway’s population lives less than 3 hours
 ’ drive from Oslo harbor\, and Oslo is quickly transforming into a cosmo
 politan hub\, with many of world-class museums\, restaurants and art\, but
  retains the relaxed atmosphere of a much smaller town. The compact city c
 enter is easily explored on foot or on bike\, and an efficient public tran
 sport system makes the whole city accessible without a car.\n\nNorway has 
 longstanding traditions in neuroscience and clinical neurology. Oslo attai
 ned its first full clinical professorship in Neurology in 1895\, possibly 
 the second full chair of neurology in the world. Norway has a very active 
 and dedicated Neurological association with more than 650 members\, who wi
 ll do what they can to make the congress and your stay a great success and
  a memorable event.\n\nThe overarching theme for the congress is “Neuroi
 nflammation – Science\, Synergies\, Solutions”. The role of neuroinfla
 mmatory processes is currently a hot topic in both understanding neurologi
 cal diseases and in developing new therapies for nervous system diseases. 
 Differing aspects of neuroinflammation will be highlighted during the cong
 ress across a broad spectrum of events. Sessions will include teaching cou
 rses\, focused workshops\, high-quality symposia\, named lectures and pres
 entations highlighting the most recent scientific progress. This should al
 low participants an unrivalled opportunity to tailor their learning to ens
 ure they have exposure to high quality learning experiences that are relev
 ant to them and their practice.\n\nThe EAN and the Norwegian Neurological 
 Association welcome you all to an exciting few days in Oslo and hope that 
 the congress will be of benefit both for you and your patients. We also ho
 pe that you will enjoy the city\, the fjord and its activities\, the beaut
 iful scenery\, and of course our hospitality. No effort will be spared to
