We are delighted to announce that for the third time in the history of EFORT\, this will be a combined meeting with a national society – in this instance swiss orthop aedics.\n\nThe EFORT Education Committee\, chaired by Professor Thierry B égué\, with ongoing support from the Specialist Societies\, has created an exceptional programme covering varied topics from basic research to are as within daily practice of orthopaedics and trauma. The main theme of the Congress in Geneva will be “Maintaining Activity Through Life”.\n\nHi ghlights of the Congress include clinical judgement in the aged spine\, in fluence of age on reconstruction in bone tumours\, early care achieves lif etime mobility\, degenerative foot and ankle as well as pitfalls in rotato r cuff surgery only to mentioned a few. As in previous editions\, there wi ll be the Michael Freeman and Erwin Morscher honorary lectures\, delivered by two highly distinguished orthopaedic surgeons. Swiss orthopaedics’ p lenary lecture – the Maurice Edmond Müller session – will also be inc luded in the programme and will be open to all participants.\n\nThe format of the meeting is again designed to encourage interaction among participa nts\, with both symposia and instructional lectures being delivered by dis tinguished speakers from all over Europe. Among the other sessions are the interactive expert exchanges\, complex case discussions and debate fora\, as well as several on evidence based medicine sessions.\n\nThe scientific programme would\, however\, be incomplete without your participation and we hope you will attend the upcoming Congress.
